African Mahogany is found in the West African countries of Ghana, Nigeria and Ivory Coast.  The color of this wood varies from a pinkish brown to a reddish brown sometimes with a purple cast to it.  It is usually not as red as South American Mahogany.   When quartersawn it often has a ribbon figure to it and crotch and swirl figure is quite common.
